Spring Lake Park Schools is hosting a number of events this winter and spring to help current and incoming families prepare for the next steps in their students’ education. Whether you are looking to enroll a student, preparing for a school transition or registering for classes, we hope students and families can connect and learn more.
Families new to the district – schedule a visit today
One of the best ways to get to know Spring Lake Park Schools is to visit. Prospective Families are encouraged to schedule a visit. Come learn more about our schools, our personalized approach to learning, the path towards career, college and life readiness and the many opportunities available for students at Spring Lake Park Schools.
Attend a New Family Information Night (families with children ages 0-5)
Families new to SLP are invited to tour and learn more about early childhood programs, preschool and kindergarten. All events begin at 5:30 p.m. To help us welcome you, please fill out this RSVP.

Get to Know Westwood for current 4th grade students
When students finish 4th grade at our elementary schools, they transition to 5th grade at Westwood Intermediate and Middle School. Families and students are invited to attend an Introduction to Westwood session to learn more about the school, the transition to 5th grade and to meet the Westwood team. If your family is new to Westwood, we recommend attending both the online and in-person event.
Attend a virtual intro to Westwood on Wednesday, February 25 - Choose one option that works for you - all the content is the same for these sessions. Please note, the Spanish Immersion session is for families whose child will continue in Spanish Immersion at Westwood.

Attend the Westwood Welcome Wednesday, March 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m. - Fourth grade students and their families will have an opportunity to visit Westwood in person on Wednesday, March 25, 5:30-7:30 p.m. Attendees will participate in several topic-specific, small group information sessions, dive into common parent questions and tour the building.
Transition to 7th grade for current 6th grade students
There will be two online information sessions for families of current 6th grade students with information about the transition to middle school. The sessions will focus on middle school programming, registration, schedules and elective options for middle school. Registration materials will be available on the Westwood registration hub beginning January 30.
Key dates:
- February 9-12 - Counselors meet with 6th grade teams to discuss the transition to 7th grade and middle school programming
- Tuesday, February 10 - 6th to 7th grade transition online info sessions, 10 a.m. or 6 p.m. | WebEx
- Friday, February 20 - Registration is due. Students will turn in their registration sheet to their homeroom or Panther Time teacher and also enter course numbers in Campus.
Transition to 8th grade for current 7th grade students
There will be an online information session for families of current 7th grade students to share information about the transition to 8th grade. The session will focus on 8th grade programming, registration, schedules and elective options for 8th grade. Registration materials will be available on the Westwood registration hub beginning January 30.

- February 23-27 - Counselors meet with 7th grade teams to discuss transition to 8th grade.
- Tuesday, February 24 - 7th to 8th grade transition online info session at 6 p.m. | WebEx
- Thursday, March 5 - Registration is due. Students will turn in their registration sheet to their homeroom or Panther Time teacher and also enter course numbers in Campus.
High school registration for current grade 8-11 students
Students in 8th, 9th, 10th and 11th grade will register for their 2026-2027 classes at Spring Lake Park High School starting Monday, January 12. Now is the time for students to start thinking about course offerings, program options, athletics and activities and graduation requirements. If you have any questions about course registration, please reach out to your child's counselor.
Key dates:
- Monday, January 12 - High school registration opens for the 2026-2027 school year. Registration materials, including a registration catalog, interactive course guide and recorded presentations on important topics will be available on the registration hub beginning January 12.
- Registration General Overview - Online Family Information Sessions. Join an online family information session for a general registration overview. Choose a time that works best for your schedule. Recordings will be available following the event.
- Monday, February 2 - High school and middle school counselors will be working directly with 8th graders to introduce them to the high school and help them create their first 4-year plan. This will be the first step toward registration for next school year.
- Wednesday, February 11 - Students and families are invited to the Explore your Options event at the high school, 4-7 p.m. This in-person event will provide a deeper dive into a variety of topics including Ways to Earn College Credit, Career and College Pathways, Athletics and Activities and more!
- Friday, February 13 - High school registration closes for the 2026-2027 school year.
