Spring 2025 highlights: Panther athletics and activities

Spring wrapped up another great season of highlights, successes and triumphs for Panther athletics and activities.

With six spring girls’ sports, seven spring boys’ sports and more than 50 student-based interest clubs and co-curricular activities at Spring Lake Park High School, our Panthers made us proud. Check out some highlights.

• Girls Golf:

• Girls Lacrosse:
  • Grace Schmidt - 100 career goals milestone, school all-time leader
• Softball:
  • Arial Xiong - 400 career strikeout milestone
• Track & Field:
  • Girls and Boys team placed 1st at the Don Fineran Invit
  • Three new school record holders
    • Jamal Smith - 100m (10.74)
    • Boys 4x100m - Daniel Chepsiror, Jamal Smith, Hunter Caillier, EJ Monluo (42.81)
    • Anja Erickson - Triple Jump (39’1”)
  • 18 state participants - school record. The state meet takes place June 10-12, 2025
• Athena Award Winner - Brianna Finnegan
• Male Athlete of the Year - Teddy Wackman
• National Signing Day: 22 student-athletes signed their national letters of intent to continue their education and play their sport at the collegiate level
• Northwest Suburban Conference All-Conference: 35 student-athletes were Northwest Suburban Conference All-Conference honorees

  • National Qualifiers: Luncho Galata, Fefe Hammouri and Mercy Ncube
• Math Team:
  • Finished 11th place at the state tournament

  • UW Eau Claire math contest champions
• Speech:
  • Sections:
    • Kaitlyn Hoang - 5th place in Extemporaneous Reading
    • Nawal Samatar - 3rd place in Discussion, state tournament entrant
    • Reagan Badzinsk - 1st place in the Storytelling, state tournament entrant
• Opportunities in Emergency Care (OEC)
  • Three teams placed in the state competition and will move on to the HOSA International Leadership Conference in Nashville in June.
