Student Parking
The student parking lot is coordinated by Spring Lake Park High School. Permits will be available to licensed drivers in grades 11 and 12, as space allows. Driving a private vehicle to school is not a necessity or a right. It is at the discretion of the school whether to charge for the privilege to secure a parking spot.
There are two primary areas designated for student parking on Campus during school hours. The main student parking lot is located on the east side of the campus (Highway 65 and 79th Avenue). The overflow area is east of the staff parking along Highway 65 service road. High School students may only park in these student-designated lots.
- Parking in staff and visitor is subject to ticketing, boot or tow – even if only on the property for short period of the day.
- All permits must be attached to the windshield on the inside bottom right corner. Students may be fined if the permit is not visible or attached.
- Vehicles must be locked at all times. Spring Lake Park Schools is not responsible for theft or vandalism.
- Littering and reckless driving will not be tolerated, and students may be fined.
- Pedestrians always have the right of way anywhere in the parking lot.
- Students who leave school without permission during the school day may have their parking privileges suspended.
- Parking permits are non-transferable. It may not be sold or loaned to another student.
- The person signing the online application owns this permit and is responsible for any violations incurred during use or misuse of this permit.

Here’s what families need to know about student parking permits for the 2025-2026 school year:
- Pre-Sale Waitlist - for current 10th & 11th graders with a valid drivers license - opens Thursday, May 22 at 7:30 a.m. and closes Monday, June 30.
- Regular Sale - for students in 11th & 12th grades during the 2025-2026 school year with a valid drivers license and are at least 16 years old - opens Monday, August 4.
- Permits may be available in October for licensed students who are in 10th grade for the 2025-2026 school year. Date to be determined.
Please note, we are not offering trimester permits for the 2025-2026 school year and no parking permit registrations will take place in July.
- You will receive confirmation of waitlist and direction for payment. Confirmed and paid permits may be picked up at the HS main office beginning Wednesday, August 4 from 7:30 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Monday - Friday. (Office will be closed on Friday, August 29 and Monday, September 1)
- Students must show a printed receipt or confirmation on their mobile device of their parking permit receipt along with their drivers license for permit pickup.
- PSEO students who attend class on-site for 3 hours or less can pay a reduced fee - verification documentation will need to be provided when picking up permit.
- OEC students from outside SLP district who have purchased a parking permit from home district can pick up a permit at no charge providing purchase validation, otherwise student may purchase a SLP permit at a reduced fee.

Parking Lot Violations
- 1st Parking Lot Violation – ticket will be issued, $10 fine
- 2nd Parking Lot Violation – ticket issued, $10 fine; parent contact will be made informing following ticket (3rd) results in a boot on vehicle
- 3rd Parking Lot Violation - vehicle tire will be booted with a $25 fine for removal
- 4th Parking Lot Violation – subject to tow at owner’s expense. Parent letter will be emailed and mailed home prior to tow.
